BLEACH – The TV pilot that’s dying to be made!
It’s not everyday that you come across pilot TV show with a script so hilarious, characters so instantly relatable and a storyline so fresh and engaging, masterfully held together by brilliant acting, directing and cinematography, but you know what? That’s exactly what you get with Bleach!
I’m guessing that’s what Issa Rae thought when she decided to include Bleach, written and created by Shawn Boxe and directed by Victoria Mahoney, on her ColorCreative roster (a new alternative TV Pilot development process).
Personally, I was intrigued by the trailer that appeared a few weeks ago on Issa Rae’s Youtube Channel. It looked interesting and new – an OCD carpet cleaner named Alan meets a professional hitman named Harvey – cool! It wasn’t until I saw the actual pilot episode this morning (see below) that I realised this was something incredibly special. So many genuine laugh out loud moments and scenes that I had to re-watch just because of the pure genius!
I hope you enjoy Bleach as much as I do, and if so, consider adding your name to the petition to get this made into a fully fledged TV show!
