Tuneful TV’s Essential Christmas Playlist

Have you ever worked in retail? Have you ever worked in retail around Christmas time? If you have, or you are currently working in retail, firstly I feel for you (this is coming from someone who worked at TopShop Oxford Circus back in the day!!) and secondly you’ll know what I mean when I say that Christmas songs can get very annoying – very annoying indeed!! Once you’ve heard “I Wish It Would Be Christmas Everyday” for the 5th time in one hour, you’ll know very well the feeling of Christmas cheer draining from every fibre of your body!

The thing is though, Christmas songs are necessary, especially in retail. For the customers, it’s the sensory aspect of it all. When you’re out doing your Christmas shopping, you want to SMELL Christmas with the spiced orange, vanilla and pine wafting past your nose. You want to SEE Christmas with all the buildings and trees lit up with twinkling lights. And you certainly want to HEAR Christmas with the sounds of choirs carol singing and the familiar hits that populate the radios this time of year!

So why am I mentioning this? Well I think there’s got to be a way for everyone to enjoy Christmas songs, whether you’re stuck in the shop listening to them on loop, or you’re stepping in off the street into the warmth of an emporium designed to make you part with your hard earned cash!

Tuneful TV’s Essential Christmas Playlist

Christmas songs aren’t going anywhere, but I believe the real issue lies with listening to the same songs over and over again.  So for this reason, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favourite Christmas songs that in my opinion are great, but don’t get as much air time as the others. They might be different versions of familiar songs or even some forgotten gems!

Stick this on in the background and let everyone enjoy the music of Christmas!

What do you think of the playlist? Are there any songs you’d like me to add? Just holla at your girl and I’ll put it in the playlist!
