Shining a spotlight on Country Singer, Jade Jackson whose melancholic and emotional song writing is music to my ears!
I’ve just finished writing an email to a new friend who upon our first meeting, told me that her favourite kind of music to listen to at the moment is Americana. The email I wrote to her pretty much consisted of, “Hey, I remember you saying you liked Americana… have you heard of…?”
And not long after sending that email it dawned on me. “Natalia, you have a music blog, why not share this new music with EVERYONE!! DUH!!
So here I am putting a spotlight on a singer whose music I’ve recently come across and who is absolutely doing it for me on all the levels!
Everyone, you need to check out Jade Jackson!
If you’re like me and you’ve got a lot of time for Country music and the aforementioned Americana then you must give Jade Jackson a listen!
Her music has a melancholic air to it what with all those minor chords and heavy guitar strumming. That’s especially prevalent in her new single ‘Bridges’. Her songwriting is very strong and holds up well in terms of the story telling that you come to expect from the genre. A bit random but her voice also immediately reminded me of the late Anet Mook, lead singer of the 90’s grunge band, ‘Cay’. Which, now that I think about it, is probably the reason why I feel like there’s a layer of punk rock to Jade’s music too. So yeah, extra points for that!
Jade’s debut album is called ‘Gilded’ and I’ve had it on repeat for a while now (you know how I do). Have a listen to it below and let me know what you think. What’s your favourite song? I’m loving ‘Motorcycle’, ‘Good Time Gone’ and of course, her new single, ‘Bridges’.
